Meet the Second Round of Pathfinder Communities
We are excited to welcome a new group of Pathfinder Communities to the Regenerative Communities Fund (RCF). Following the conclusion of our 4th Call for Proposals, 51 community-led initiatives have been selected to join the RCF ecosystem as part of the Funding Fairer Futures (FFF) project.
The call, launched in May, invited small-scale, innovative and inclusive community-led initiatives (CLIs) working towards climate action and local regeneration to apply. This round focused on grassroots organisations based in France, Finland, Portugal, Croatia and Spain, whose work is firmly rooted in their local contexts, creates opportunities for marginalised groups and contributes to positive change in their communities.
We were delighted to receive over 100 applications from across the 5 eligible countries, showcasing a remarkable diversity of approaches, experiences and ideas. After a thorough assessment process, 51 initiatives were selected for their strong alignment with the RCF’s purpose and values, as well as their potential to contribute to and benefit from a collaborative European network of regenerative communities. This round brings the RCF network to 100 Pathfinder Communities in total, following the withdrawal of one community from the previous cohort.
A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who applied. We loved reading project ideas from so many grassroots communities, and while not every initiative could be selected, we hope to remain connected with the wider community of applicants and continue creating opportunities for exchange and collaboration as the RCF network grows. We wish you all the best in your endevaours.
The newly selected Pathfinder Communities will now become part of the wider RCF ecosystem, currently composed of 5 National Hubs, 15 Demonstrators, and 100 Pathfinder communities. Through these connections, they will share knowledge and experiences, strengthen collective capacity and contribute to approaches to systemic transformation grounded in climate justice, inclusion and the voices of marginalised communities.
We are delighted to introduce this new group of Pathfinder Communities. Discover the selected communities by country below, and stay tuned: we’ll soon share more about them!

About the Regenerative Communities Fund (RCF)
The RCF is a fund specifically focused on supporting regenerative communities in Europe.
The RCF helps community-led initiatives overcome barriers—like lack of funding, outreach, or technical support—especially in marginalised or underserved communities. Through an ecosystem of National Hubs, Demonstrators, and upcoming Pathfinder communities, RCF aims to build an inclusive movement for eco-social regeneration.
The fund is currently being piloted through Funding Fairer Futures (FFF), a project co-funded by the European Commission under the DEAR Programme.
For now, no further RCF Calls for Proposals are planned. Our focus is on strengthening the growing RCF ecosystem and exploring opportunities to take the fund into its next phase.
We are actively looking for partners and funders who share our vision and are interested in supporting the continued development and expansion of the Regenerative Communities Fund, enabling more community-led initiatives across Europe to access resources, build capacity, and connect with a wider regenerative movement.
