Farming With Nature – Regeneration, Livelihoods, and a New Social Contract for Europe’s Farmers & Peasants

May 7
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm CEST

The workshop delves into the intersections of agroecology, regenerative agriculture, and agriculture as a form of ecological stewardship. This is the fourth event of the advocacy campaign Communities for future: Good food for all., grounded in ECOLISE’s policy positioning paper Reclaiming the Future of Food: Community Pathways to Resilience, Justice and Regeneration.

Across Europe, the social contract governing agriculture is under strain. While farmers and peasants are increasingly positioned at the forefront of ecological stewardship, current systems often struggle to provide the economic security or institutional support needed for them to thrive. This workshop dives into the potential of agroecology and regenerative practices not just as technical solutions, but as powerful drivers of social and ecological regeneration. By prioritizing high-impact community-led practices, we can move toward a model of farming that restores soil health, nurtures biodiversity, and secures dignified livelihoods.

Building on the political momentum generated throughout our campaign, this final session invites participants to engage in a shared vision for Europe’s food future. We will discuss how to shift institutional frameworks to better serve small-scale producers and land-based communities, ensuring that the transition to a regenerative paradigm is an inclusive, empowering process. Join us as we consolidate our alliances and amplify our collective voice in support of the Right to Food — help us drive the political transformation necessary to make Good food for all a reality.
