Community Storytellers Lab: Hands on the stories

October 23
10:00 am - 11:30 am CEST

Community-led housing offers an alternative to conventional housing models, putting people and communities at the centre of creating and managing affordable, inclusive and sustainable places to live. But how can we tell the stories behind these initiatives in ways that influence housing policies and inspire change across Europe?

Building on the techniques introduced in the previous Storytelling session, this practical workshop will explore how to identify powerful stories from your community-led housing initiative, organisation, members or partners. Participants will learn how to conduct interviews, ask meaningful questions ethically, and capture stories that resonate with their audiences.

The session will also introduce practical tips for producing audiovisual content ready to share on social media, helping participants turn the experiences and voices of their communities into compelling stories that can support advocacy for more affordable, inclusive and sustainable housing policies.

More information

The CHOICE Storytelling Lab is part of the CHOICE project, coordinated by GEN EU and a consortium of European organisations working to strengthen community-led housing through knowledge exchange, collaboration and advocacy. The Lab brings together people involved in community-led housing and related movements from across Europe to learn how to document and share the stories behind their initiatives. Through interactive sessions, practical assignments, peer learning and mentoring, participants will develop their own documented housing story.
