ECOLISE Awarded Actiris Diversity Label
On Wednesday, 21st May, ECOLISE had the honour of receiving a Diversity Label from the Brussels employment agency Actiris, in recognition of its dedicated efforts to develop and implement a robust and holistic Diversity Plan. The award ceremony, co-hosted by the Brussels Economy and Employment agency, featured speeches by Directrice Générale Stéphanie Sauvage and Bernard Clerfayt, Minister of the Brussels-Capital Region for Employment. Both leaders underscored the critical importance—now more than ever—of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace, especially in a city like Brussels, known for its vibrant multicultural fabric.
Between 2022 and 2024, ECOLISE, together with Actiris diversity consultants Stephanie Collingwoode and Ella Maes, focused on embedding DEI across all areas of its operations through a comprehensive Diversity Plan. This included actions such as broadening recruitment channels, incorporating diversity commitments into onboarding, providing training on inclusion and mental health, and creating a diverse image bank. A key outcome of this work was the development of the People Care Manual, which compiles ECOLISE’s internal policies aimed at cultivating a safe, inclusive, and people-centred organisational culture.

At ECOLISE, diversity is a core value that shapes our vision, governance, and daily practices. We believe that truly inclusive systems are foundational to the regenerative and just transition we are working to co-create. This commitment extends beyond our internal structures to the heart of our mission: supporting and amplifying community-led initiatives across Europe that embody ecological sustainability, social justice, and cultural diversity.
So what’s next?
Building on this recognition, ECOLISE is committed to deepening its DEI efforts. Upcoming steps include regularly reviewing and updating our internal policies on recruitment, communication, and inclusive events, as well as expanding our image bank. It’s about further embedding equity and care at the heart of how we work and grow together.
