Ruth Marie Kondrup
Permaculture Denmark
Ruth Marie is passionate about creating regenerative communities where people, nature, and local action can thrive together. Her work combines practical experience in permaculture with community building, participatory governance, and adult education.
As Chair of Permakultur Danmark, she works to strengthen networks, support local initiatives, and develop learning opportunities that enable people to take meaningful action for ecological and social regeneration. She is part of the Nordic Baltic Permaculture Circle and leads the development of the Nordic Seed Alliance, connecting permaculture organisations, seed savers, and agroecological actors across the region to safeguard the right to save, share, and cultivate diverse seeds.
At her demonstration site, Kastanjely in Denmark, Ruth Marie explores regenerative approaches to food production, water management, biodiversity, and community learning. She is particularly interested in how local initiatives can inspire wider systems change through knowledge exchange, international cooperation, and peer-to-peer learning — believing that lasting change happens when practical solutions are combined with collaboration, shared leadership, and strong relationships.
