Transition Network International

Filipa Pimentel
Transition Network International
Filipa is a Portuguese forest scientist by training. In 2000, she went to Brussels to join an internship at the European Commission and worked in several EU Institutions and organisations related to sustainable development as a political adviser. After 10 years of work related to EU policy, she quit her job to dedicate herself fully to the Transition Movement – she is part of it, at several levels – local, national and international since then.
Filipa has been a Transition Network International team member since 2011. From the start, her work has been, mainly, to explore with people all over the world how to develop the social infrastructure, collaborative culture and new forms of leadership capable of supporting a distributed movement for social change.
She is currently living in Brussels but with a big piece of her heart in Portugal – she is the initiator of an emergent movement of movements for Regeneration in Portugal and co-founder and leader of the organisation supporting that network – Associação Micélio.
She is an accredited Sociocracy for All and Prosocial World facilitator and she was trained by International Futures Forum (Competence in Complexity).
